Fire detection meshes typically cover tens to a few hundred detectors, call points and sounders per building or site, all reporting to a single panel gateway. Every detector also repeats for its neighbors, so the network keeps working even if one node is damaged, removed or loses its path back to the panel. That redundancy lets sites get a wireless system that behaves, for reliability purposes, like a wired loop, without opening a single wall.
