APPLICATIONS

Mining

Personnel safety, gas monitoring and equipment tracking through tunnels no single radio link can cover.

← All applications

Underground deployments follow the workings themselves — typically dozens to a few hundred nodes strung along drives and stopes for gas monitoring, personnel tags and equipment tracking. Each node extends coverage a little further into the tunnel, so the network grows however the mine grows, and nodes that get moved or blasted out simply rejoin wherever they land. That self-healing behavior matters underground, where re-running a cable after a blast is not an option.

THE CHALLENGE

Tunnels twist beyond line-of-sight and infrastructure must survive blasting and relocation.

THE MESH SOLUTION

The mesh follows the tunnel: each node extends coverage deeper, and moved nodes rejoin automatically.

TYPICAL DEVICES

  • Gas sensors
  • Personnel tags
  • Equipment trackers
  • Environmental monitors
